Dai.Glass

Handcrafted with heart, where glass meets light and elegance shines.

From the flickering glow of a torch to the delicate precision of animation, my journey as an artist has been shaped by a love for movement, transformation, and storytelling. My background in animation taught me how to bring ideas to life frame by frame. Yet, my creative path took a luminous turn when I discovered glass. The way light interacts with molten material, the unpredictability of heat shaping form—these elements reminded me of the magic I found in animation, but with a tactile, three-dimensional presence.

My work now exists at the intersection of precision and spontaneity, digital and physical, ephemeral and permanent. Whether crafting a delicate pearl-adorned glass earring, sculpting a tiny figure, or developing an animated short film, my goal remains the same: to capture emotion, tell stories, and create art that resonates. I am drawn to cute things—figures and characters that carry warmth, joy, and a quiet strength, reminding people of the happiness in their lives.

I believe in the beauty of immediacy—embracing the present, shaping ideas into reality, and letting my work soar. As I continue to evolve as an artist, I carry with me a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, the patience of animation, and the endless possibilities of glass. Through my work, I hope to spark delight, evoke wonder, and create small moments of magic in everyday life.

When did you start creating? Was there a specific moment or inspiration that led you to it?

I started working with glass in 2024, but my fascination with it began long before that. I’ve always searched for new ways to bring the images in my mind to life, and when I watched Blown Away, I was completely captivated. The way molten glass moved, the way light danced through it—it felt like a living material, full of magic.

It also reignited a childhood memory. I used to wonder, How is glass made? How does it take shape? That curiosity stayed with me, and in 2024, I finally found my answer—not just by learning, but by creating. Now, every piece I make carries that sense of wonder, turning questions into tangible beauty.

What emotions, messages, or themes do you hope to convey through your work?

Through my work, I hope to evoke joy, wonder, and a sense of warmth. I love creating pieces that feel alive—whether it’s a delicate glass sculpture or an animated character, I want them to carry a quiet strength, reminding people of happiness and the beauty in small moments. My art blends playfulness with elegance, spontaneity with precision, always aiming to spark delight and connection.

What materials, tools, or techniques do you use, and why did you choose them?

I work with both borosilicate and soft glass rods to create small sculptures, carefully shaping each piece in the flame. Once properly annealed for strength and durability, I assemble them with high-quality 925 silver findings to transform them into jewelry. Inspiration can strike at any moment, so I always carry a notebook with me. Whenever an idea pops into my mind, I sketch it down, later using these drawings as a reference when bringing my glass creations to life. My process is a balance of spontaneity and precision, allowing me to turn fleeting ideas into tangible art.

What was the biggest challenge you faced in your creative journey, and how did you overcome it?

One of the biggest challenges in my creative journey has been the unpredictable nature of glass lampwork. No matter how much care and skill I put in, glass has a mind of its own—it cracks, warps, or simply refuses to cooperate. In the glass world, we often say it’s up to the "glass god." The only way to overcome this is persistence. I keep making, learning from each piece, and trusting that with patience and practice, the perfect one will eventually appear. Every crack is a lesson, and every success is a reward.

Do you remember your first sale? How did it feel?

Yes! I remember my first sale at an offline market—seeing someone walk up to my stand, connect with my design, and choose to take it home was an incredible feeling. Knowing that something I created brought joy to someone else made all the time and effort worth it. It was a moment of validation and excitement, reminding me why I love making art.

Has a customer ever shared a special story or reason for purchasing your work?

Yes! There was a couple who visited my stand at acmarket—we had a fun chat, but they didn’t buy anything at the time. Later that night, the gentleman messaged me on Instagram and ordered a series of jewelry to surprise his girlfriend. It was such a sweet gesture, and I felt honored to be part of their special moment!

I also have two sisters who have returned to my shop many times, collecting different pieces each visit. Seeing them come back again and again makes me incredibly proud and happy, knowing my work resonates with them. Moments like these remind me why I love creating.

Is there a particular piece or product that customers seem to love the most? What makes it special?

My most popular piece is my spinning ring—a unique combination of beauty and playfulness. Made with a glass bead, it doubles as a stylish accessory and a fidget toy, helping to relieve stress while looking elegant. Customers love its interactive design, and I think it’s special because it’s not just jewelry—it’s something you can engage with, bringing both visual and tactile joy.

What are your future plans? What do you hope to achieve through your creative business?

I want to keep creating new designs, growing my brand, and reaching more people who connect with my work. Beyond that, I hope to build a community—meeting new friends, sharing creativity, and making jewelry and art
that bring joy and playfulness into people’s lives. At the same time, I’m always exploring new techniques and expanding my skills, looking for fresh ways to push my creativity further. I love experimenting with different methods to surprise people with unique, unexpected designs. My goal is to keep evolving, making art that feels exciting, meaningful, and full of wonder.

Are you working on any exciting new projects or collections?

Yes! I’m working on some exciting new designs and can’t wait to share them. When they’re ready, I’ll give them a big debut—stay tuned for something fresh, fun, and full of surprises!
